Spiraea x vanhouttei 'Renaissance') is an improved, disease-resistant cultivar of the classic bridal wreath spirea featuring arching, fountain-like branches covered in clusters of white flowers in the spring.
Size: Grows 5 to 7 feet tall with a 5 to 8-foot spread in a graceful, vase-shaped habit.
Flowers: Masses of tiny, pure white blooms appear along the stems in mid-to-late spring.
Foliage: Blue-green leaves through the spring and summer that often transition to vibrant orange-red or maroon in the fall.
Hardiness: Thrives in USDA Zones 3 through 9.
Sunlight: Performs best in full sun (at least six hours of direct sunlight daily) for optimal flowering.
Soil: Prefers well-drained soil and adapts well to various types including clay, sand, or loamy conditions.
Watering: Requires regular moisture when newly planted, becoming moderately drought-tolerant once established.
Pruning: Prune or shape the shrub immediately after flowering finishes, as the plant sets buds on old wood for the following season.
